While others may believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, we spend our time getting to know our students and their families while creating unique and individualized college and career options that will be best suited to them. We strive to create a relaxed and stress-free environment for our families using our exclusive and proprietary College4Careers approach and supplementary materials that yield successful results for our clients.

No one has ever said to us “We started planning too early” or “We wish we had waited longer to get started” but the opposite happens frequently. If a student has already started high school they may have missed out on some programs and planning strategies that cannot be undone during their junior or senior year. Our advice is to schedule a consultation during middle school and assess where we can be of service to the family and what the optimum time to begin services is for that individual student.

The ideal time to visit schools is during a student’s sophomore and junior high school years – they will have a good idea of the entire concept of college and most schools will still be fresh in their mind when the applications start the summer before senior year begins. If the family is going to be on vacation, touring with older siblings/relatives to see colleges, or visiting an area sooner or later than this, then there is no need to schedule a separate trip. When your oldest student gets to 8th grade and you are making travel plans check into what schools are nearby and consider a visit to any that appeal to your family.

No, and you should be wary of any company that offers this service to you. We assist. We guide. We counsel. But we do not write any essays for our students. All students should be encouraged to write their essays in their own voice so their unique personality shines through. Most college essay readers are past college students from that particular campus and if you think they can’t sniff out an essay written by a paper mill or a parent you would be quite surprised.

No, and much like the advice in the student essay question, this should be a red flag if someone offers you this guarantee. There are no guarantees that any student will be accepted for admissions at any campus. Period. Legacies, family connections, coach recruiting, etc. does not guarantee acceptance. Most of our students are accepted at the majority of the campuses they apply to because we create a plan that prepares our student’s to be admission’s ready and a qualified candidate at every campus they submit an application to.

Students work directly with our founder, Julie Sanborn, during all consultations and Premier Package sessions. We enroll a limited number of Premier Package students each school year so they can receive the maximum level of attention they deserve in order to achieve success.

We can continue to work with your student remotely via phone or with telecommunication options like Skype or Facetime. If those options do not meet your needs we would be happy to prorate a refund to you for any remaining unused services.

For clients who are out of the immediate area we offer telecommunication options like Skype or Facetime to work together. If you have a unique situation, please contact us at hello@college4careers.com or 949-610-3992 and we can discuss your needs.

We find that middle school students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) benefit from attending these meetings together. The middle school years are building a solid foundation for high school success so students and parent(s)/guardian(s) working together during these years can be very beneficial for the entire family.

The majority of meetings will be with the high school student but there a select number of meetings where we require parent(s)guardian(s) to be in attendance because there are time commitments and financial matters that will be discussed. Details can be found under each of the services we offer by grade level.

Each student has a limited amount of time with us so we strive to give them our full attention during their meetings and an open forum to discuss any matters relating to school or their personal lives that may be impacting their ability to achieve success so we kindly request that the students and families attend their sessions without siblings.

We find that students are more prepared and focused when they attend their meetings in a professional office setting that is free of distractions so we do not offer home visits.
