For college students, fall semester grades have probably been posted. This might be a good time to remind students why GPA matters in college:
1. Academic Standing – low grades can mean suspension from impacted programs (business, engineering, nursing, etc.) or inability to earn a degree
2. Financial Aid – falling below a GPA requirement can mean no more scholarships, grants, or loan opportunities
3. Social Groups – fraternities, sororities, and other campus groups have minimum GPA requirements
